First Lady urges youths to preach peace

First Lady Esther Lungu has urged youths across the country to preach the message of peace.

Mrs Lungu made the call in Lusaka this afternoon during the farewell reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy for Zambian students under the Chinese government scholarship program for 2016.

She says Zambians are privileged to still have first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda the beacon of peace and the architect of the One Zambia One Nation Motto.

Mrs. Lungu says Zambians can only honor Dr Kaunda by upholding the principles of peace he so much pioneered and upheld.

She states that forefathers should be saluted because of their glowing examples of peace in the nation.

Speaking at the same event, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming says a record number of 200 Zambian students have been accepted under various scholarship programs offered by the Chinese government.

Mr. Youming says apart from the scholarships, the China has actively engaged in the development of the Zambian human resource and has provided a large number of training opportunities every year.
