The ruling Patriotic Front has dismissed assertions that it has devised a ploy to put out of operation all media houses perceived to be anti-government.

PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says the ruling party does not take pleasure in seeing any media house shut down.
In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Bwalya says the party appreciates media diversity and would like to see more media outlets that are competent, objective and professional operate in the country.
Mr. Bwalya says the ruling PF is however, against media houses that are in the tendency of inciting violence and promoting particular sections of society.
He says it is the PF’s desire that the media in the country will continue to be highly professional in accordance with journalism ethics.
