UPND wants unity Govt – Chama

The Patriotic Front has accused the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) of pushing for a government of National Unity.

Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka today, PF Secretary General Davies Chama says the ruling party and the people of Zambia will not allow this kind of maneuver by the UPND.

He says President Edgar Lungu won the election and that Zambians are just waiting for the Constitutional court to rule on the election petition filed by the UPND.

And Mr Davies ChamaChama says President Lungu will not meet UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema to discuss the aftermath of the elections.

He says this is because the violence being witnessed in the country is being perpetrated by UPND supporters.

Mr Chama says if Mr Hichilema is serious about ending the violence, he should go to his supporters and tell them to stop what they are doing against innocent Zambians.

Mr. Chama has wondered why the UPND Leader tried to reach out to President Lungu through the media when he can easily reach out to the president or the PF for such a meeting.
