Illegal prescription of drugs has reduced- ZAMRA

The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) has observed that cases of illegal prescription drugs in the country have drastically reduced because of the measures it has put in place.

ZAMRA Public Relations Officer Ludovic Mwape says with the introduction of the health shops, the country will see a further reduction in illegal drugs outlets.

Mr. Mwape says it is gratifying to note that people intending to open drug stores are now following led down procedures.

He says the authority will endeavor to ensure there is sanity in the dispensation of medicines in the country.

And Mr. Mwape has called on drug stores to always ensure they sell medicines to people with prescriptions from health institutions.
