Zambia gets 2 yrs ban from COSAFA youth tournaments

Zambia has been banned from participating in all COSAFA youth tournaments for two years for using over-age players during the recent COSAFA under-17 tournament in Mauritius.

downloadFootball Association of Zambia General Secretary, Ponga Liwewe disclosed this during a press briefing in Lusaka today.

Liwewe says the decision to suspend FAZ was arrived at by the Executive Committee of COSAFA after its investigation on the use over age players by Zambia at the just ended COSAFA under 17 tournament.

He adds that suspended under 17 national team coach Osward Mutapa and team manager Collins Phiri together with the two over age players Benjamin Phiri and Nicolas Mulilo have also been banned from participating in all COSAFA Tournaments for a period of two years.

Liwewe further states that FAZ has also been fined five thousand United States dollars which is payable before 15th October,2016.
