Police in Lusaka have arrested Stephen Sichilima aged 30 for impersonating a public officer.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the incident happened at about 11:00 hours when Mr. Sichilima attempted to vote at Chilenje community hall polling station by way of introducing himself as a driver for the Electoral Commission of Zambia while wearing an orange apron for the ECZ.

Mr. Hamoonga says the man has since been detained in police custody.

Meanwhile police in Serenje this morning summoned PF Serenje constituency parliamentary candidate Philip Kosamu and warned him for attempting to talk to voters that had queued to cast their votes.

And Electoral Commission of Zambia Director Priscilla Isaac has also confirmed the summoning of Mr Kosamu during a media briefing held a while ago.
