ECZ called on to avoid raising suspicions of rigging

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been called upon to avoid raising suspicions of election rigging by being transparent at all times.

Electoral Expert MacDonald Chipenzi says the Commission should also ensure it is accessible whenever stakeholders raise concerns with regards how it is handling certain processes leading to the elections.

He says the commission should make it a point to communicate with all stakeholders before implementing any decision it clearly knows would raise suspicions.

Mr. Chipenzi has told QTV News in an interview that the commission should do this especially with regards the movements of election materials which normally attracts suspicion from stakeholders.

Mr. Chipenzi states that communication with stakeholders such as political party leaders helps reduce suspicions of rigging.
