ZCID advocates for credible polls

The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has encouraged the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to ensure that it conducts next week’s general elections in a credible manner.

The center says there is need to ensure that the coming general elections are transparent to avoid post election conflicts.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando says stakeholders should do something to ensure that integrity is maintained and enhanced in the coming elections.

Mr. Chilando says if people and political parties lose, it should not be because of the process but because of the decision by the people through the ballot paper.

He notes that it is important that the elections management body is above bold in its operations in the manner in which it manages the elections.

Mr. Chilando has also encouraged candidates participating in the elections to accept the election results.
