Head of Elections Observer Mission Ambassador Ashraf Rashed
The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has deployed 30 mission election observers to observer next week’s general elections which will be held alongside the referendum.
Head of Elections Observer Mission Ambassador Ashraf Rashed has assured that the mission shall maintain the highest levels of integrity throughout the process.
Ambassador Rashed says the observer mission will endeavor to observe the various phases of the electoral cycle including campaigns, voting, vote counting and declaration of the election results.
He notes that in order to ensure that they do a good and thorough job, all members of the mission will undergo an intensive training which will not only guide them on legal frameworks of Zambia but will also provide them with the necessary election observation skills and tools.
He further states that they are honored to contribute to the democratic process of Zambia.
