The Zambia Weight and Measures Agency (ZW&MA) has reassured farmers across the country that the weights used by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) during this maize marketing season were accurately verified for accuracy.

ZW&MA Public Relations Officer Diana Ngula says the only challenge the agency is facing is the fact that some private buyers may not be using verified weights as they purchase the maize from farmers.

Ms. Ngula tells QTV News in an interview during the Agriculture and Commercial Show that for farmers to get value for their money, they need to ensure that they check out for stickers from the agency on weights used by private buyers.

Ms Ngula says all weights verified by the agency have the stickers on them and that this should entail that the weights used are verified for accuracy.
