The opposition Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) has joined stakeholders in condemning the attack on a woman in Southern Province by suspected UPND supporters last week.

ZRP National Information and Publicity Secretary David Kafwanka says it is worrying that the party which wants to be in office is tolerating such barbaric acts.

Mr. Kafwanka says attacks on women must not be condoned by civilized people.

And the ZRP is dismayed by women organizations who were condemning Congolese music giant Koffie Olomide for attacking a woman at Airport in Kenya and are quiet about the Zambian woman attacked by political party cadres.

He says women must be seen defending their own and not be quiet when their fellow women are attacked.

He has since appealed to the Zambia Police Service to ensure that they bring to book the culprits in that act.

Meanwhile, a Monze based Civil Rights Activist Modern Hamabibi has expressed concern on the article aired on ZNBC suggesting that Tonga speaking people have started attacking Bemba speaking people in Southern Province saying such statements have the capacity of dividing the nation.

Mr. Hamabibi says the media should be seen uniting the nation and not taking sides in the manner they report on national issues that have the potential to create chaos in the country.

And Mr. Hamabibi has demanded that the PF Information Committee team should stop the Nega Nega propaganda that they are championing saying it is not good for the nation.
