A fish Farmer from Rufunsa District has called financial institutions and the private sector in the country to increase investment in fish production.

Felix Mwansa says government and other stakeholders can come on board to increase domestic fish production by financially supporting fish farmers.

Mr. Mwansa, who has been in fish farming for over four years now, says because of the financial assistance he got from CEEC he has four fish ponds which are carrying each approximately 5, 000 breams.

He tells QFM News on the sidelines of the Agricultural and Commercial Show that if fish farmers can be supported more by relevant stakeholders, there is hope of producing more and even start exporting to earn some foreign exchange.

He notes that even fish farming has potential of creating the much needed employment opportunities for local people.
