Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Public Relations Manager, Crispin Akufuna has cautioned the media against reporting election results which are not from ECZ officials who are obliged to issue results.

Mr. Akufuna has told QFM News in an interview that it against the electoral code of conduct for the media to report election results with are not given by ECZ such as presiding officers, returning officer and other ECZ who are allowed to do so.

He has emphasized that all elections results must be attributed to Presiding officers at polling station level, the returning officer and other ECZ who are allowed to do so because they are official results.

He further urged political parties to desist from declaring themselves winners of the election before the official results from ECZ because the act is against the electoral code of conduct.
