The opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) has attributed the continued political violence in Zambia to lack of trust among political parties.

ZED president Frederick Mutesa says his party also thinks that the continued perpetration of political violence is in fact a sign that peace making does not come through signing of peace pacts.

Mr. Mutesa says his party believes that peace making should be treated as a process that should involve building confidence measures and continuous dialogue among governance stakeholders.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Mutesa states that this should also be accompanied by the building of trust.

Dr. Mutesa says notwithstanding the continued political skirmishes being witnessed, his party will continue to call for peaceful campaigns.
