PF disowns cadre buying voters cards

The Patriotic Front has disowned David Phiri a PF cadre who was apprehended and taken to Woodlands Police station by Republican Progressive Party President James Lukuku for buying voters cards from electorates in Lusaka central.

Speaking in a telephone interview with Qfm, PF Secretary General Davis Chama says the PF is enjoying popularity in Lusaka and other parts of the country, and sees no need to engage in electoral malpractices.

He says the ruling party cannot afford to deny any electorate the opportunity to freely choose their candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Mr Chama says the PF will investigate the case to ascertain the facts, stating that there have been so many allegations of electoral malpractices against the ruling party.
