Simukonde encourages Zambians to vote YES in referendum

Zambians have been encouraged to vote YES in the August referendum on the Bill of Rights in order to ensure the further strengthening of children’s rights.

Civil rights activist Godfrey Simukonde notes that the manner in which the Bill has been drafted addresses the challenges currently being faced in ensuring the protection of children’s rights.

Mr. Simukonde says he has taken note that if the Bill is passed into law, government can even be taken to Court for failing to protect children’s rights.

Mr. SimukondE tells QTV that this legislation the issue of neglecting street kids will also be firmly dealt with.

Mr. SimukondE says he is thus happy that the issue of street kids which has been feared to be a time bomb will now be averted.
