AVAP urges ECZ to firmly deal with electoral graft

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been called upon not to relent at evoking all powers it has been reposed with in managing this year’s general elections.

The Ant- Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) thinks that with amended republican constitution the ECZ now has enough laws to deal with perpetrators of malpractices during elections.

Executive Director Richwell Mulwani says his organization is particularly calling upon the ECZ to firmly deal with culprits of electoral corruption.

Mr. Mulwani says his organization has taken note of the reports of some political parties that want to confuse electorates by offering them bribes with the view that they vote for them.

He states that AVAP strongly condemns such electoral malpractices as they do not allow electorates to vote with sober minds.
