UNIP still confident of scooping this year’s general elections

The opposition UNIP says the withdrawal of its Kanyama Parliamentary candidate from taking part in the forthcoming general elections is inconsequential.

UNIP Lusaka District Chairman Boniface Chapala says what Charles Mwelwa has done is only a sign that he lacks principles and that he is inconsistent.

Mr. Chapala says Mr. Mwelwa has also proved that he is unreliable and cannot be trusted.

He states that his party is thus convinced that Mr. Mwelwa is a compromised individual adding that posterity will judge him for his clear mischief.

He says UNIP remains committed to campaign for the President, Mayoral and Local government Candidates during this year’s elections.
