FODEP Acting Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe
The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has urged the Department of National Registration to help the Electoral Commission of Zambia correct the errors pertaining to NRC details detected during the audit of the voters register.
FODEP acting Executive Director Chimfwembe Mweenge says there is need to ensure that the elections are free and fair by address all issues that may raise suspicion.
He says the number of people with shared NRC details is alarming for ECZ to say they will be allowed to vote even with such anomalies.
Mr. Mweenge says there is still time for the ECZ to deal with the irregularities in the voter register instead of leaving things hanging.
He has also called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia to avail stakeholders with the voters register to enable them scrutinize it.
