The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has been challenged to publish a report of its assessment of how broadcasting media houses have so far covered campaigns ahead of the August general election.

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) is concerned that the IBA seems to be reluctant in acting upon complaints against some media houses.

MISA Zambia Chapter chairperson Helen Mwale says some political parties have complained of biased coverage by the public broadcaster ZNBC.

Ms Mwale has wondered how people are going to make informed decisions if they are only being feed with policies and ideas of one political party.

She states that MISA feels ZNBC is being unfair to restrict Zambians to one sided news, and that it is for this reason that MISA is urging the IBA to hasten in engaging ZNBC to improve its coverage of political parties.
