FDD hails police

The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has hailed the Zambia Police Service for the fair manner in which it is applying the Public Order Act during the ongoing campaigns.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says the Police have so far exhibited professionalism in administering the controversial law.

Mr Mwanza says the fear of the party before the campaign period was that Police might apply the Act unfairly, but that they have done a good job so far.

He states that there has not been a single party meeting the police has disrupted in the name of the public order Act.

Mr Mwanza has since encouraged the Police service to continue on this path of professionalism in order to promote democracy in the country.
