The Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC) has rebranded its name to Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) with a redefined vision.

The rebranding has been done on the backdrop of the launch of its 2017 – 2026 strategic plan.

Speaking during the official launch of the strategic plan in Lusaka today, Caritas Zambia Executive Director Samuel Mulafulafu says with the new strategic plan, ZCCB expects to provide effective oversight in the running of the Catholic Secretariat and its other institutions.

Mr. Mulafulafu says in trying to accomplish this outcome, efforts will be made to build the capacity of the Bishops and Catholic Secretariat Management Team (CSMT) on governance.

He says the ZCCB vision and mission will also be promoted among Church’s different institutions with the view of enhancing implementation of its interventions based on a strong Catholic ethos.

Mr. Mulafulafu says the conference will also remain committed to its authentic evangelization and missionary spirit.

And ZCCB President Telesphore Mpundu described the launched strategic plan as a divine roadmap for the conference.

Archbishop Mpundu has since hailed the contributions and efforts that were made to develop the strategic plan.
