Opposition not satisfied with voters register audit

Some opposition Political parties are still not satisfied with the findings of an independent audit of Edwinthe voters register which has not detected any foreign nationals on the register.

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says it is not satisfied with the findings of the audit conducted on the 2016 register of voters which has revealed that there are no foreign voters in the register.

UPND deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says the fact that errors have been detected in the register such as of those of people having the same National Registration Card numbers gives enough reasons to doubt the audit results.

Mr Lifwekelo says the voters register needs to be subjected to further scrutiny.

And Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has demanAntonioded that the party be availed with the original copy of the voters register so that they can conduct their own audit.

Mr. Mwanza says they are not convinced with the audit results especially that there are too many errors in the register which leaves much to be desired.
