Lack of planning hindrance to Zambian entrepreneurs’ growth

Lack of planning has been cited as one of the major reasons Zambian entrepreneurs have been failing to penetrate the African trade market.

Barclays Bank Zambia Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations Mato Shimabale has also observed that most entrepreneurs have limited their thinking to how their businesses can grow to Zambia alone.

Mr. Shimabale says there is need for entrepreneurs to start thinking of growing their business beyond the country’s borders.

He was speaking in Lusaka today during the launch of the second Barclays Bank sponsored Nyamuka Zambia National Business Conference.

Speaking at the function, Private Enterprise Programme Zambia (PEPZ) Team leader Bayo Akindeinde encouraged entrepreneurs to learner to take psychological risks in their businesses.

Mr. Akindeinde says it should not matter how many times an entrepreneur should fail before succeeding in pursuing a particular business plan.

Earlier, Nyamuka Zambia Business Plan Competition officer Namaya-Morero Mbikusita- Lewanika expressed optimism that this year’s Zambia National Business Conference which will be held in Lusaka on the 20th of July will be as successful as last year’s.
