EAZ president Crispin Mpuka however, states that such fluctuation is normal for a country preparing for an election.

Dr. Mpuka has told QTV news that during in an election period investors tend to hold back their investments.

He says this entails that the supply of the United States Dollar to which the Kwacha is pegged becomes scarce and its demand goes up.
