Dr. Mwaanga is urging President Lungu to emulate late former President Levy Mwanawasa who took a tough stance against political violence by making it known to all political parties that violence had no place in the country.

In an interview by telephone, Dr. Mwaanga has recalled that the late Dr. Mwanawasa indicated to all political parties that whoever was found engaging in violence would be visited by the law.

Dr. Mwaanga recalls that the country held peaceful elections in 2001 and 2006.

He says the violence which the country is now witnessing ahead of the August elections is therefore an indication that something has gone wrong.
