The Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (ZUFIAW) has warned management at ZANACO to respect the country’s labour laws or face the consequences that arise from their abrogation.

ZUFIAW General Secretary Chingati Msiska says ZANACO management is taking his union for granted by delaying the conclusion of negotiations for improved conditions of service for its members.

Mr Msiska says ordinary the negotiations were supposed to have been concluded and implemented in January 2016.

He says the union will not take kindly to the unnecessary delays and buying of time by management in the ongoing negotiations.

Mr Msiska says the union demands the conclusion of the negotiations as soon as possible ot it will seek the intervention of the labour office.

He has since warned ZANACO management to take workers issues seriously and respect the labour laws of the land in order to avoid industrial unrest.

Mr Msiska states that ZUFIAW workers have run out of patience and that the unreasonable actions by management will not be condoned.
