The Felix Mutati led MMD faction has blamed the UPND leadership for last week’s fracas in which Police killed one UPND supporter and injured others.
Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka today, National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda says the country’s democracy is under threat because political leaders have failed to respect and adhere to the Law.
Mr Nakachinda says last week’s incident could have been avoided had the UPND leadership heed to the advice of the Police.
He says aggrieved political parties should not resort to taking the law into their own hands, but instead seek the constitutional court’s intervention.
