FODEP proposes law to compel presidential candidates

The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says there is need for a law that will compel all presidential candidates to implement all the promises in their manifestoes when they win elections.

FODEP Acting Executive Director Mweembe Chimfwembe says such a law would keep politicians on their toes to implement all programmes enshrined in their manifestoes.

Speaking to QTV in an interview, Mr. Chimfwembe says it is time to end failed promises by politicians in the country.

He says unfulfilled promises were causing harm to the country’s socio-economic development.
