FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says failure by the Commission to revoke the suspension; the FDD will be left with no option but to seek legal redress.

Mr. Mwanza says the decision by the commission has affected the party’s candidates at all levels in the affected districts.

He says much as the FDD appreciates the importance of enforcing electoral rules and regulations, the party objects to the suspension of the campaigns.

Mr Mwanza says instead of sanctioning the perpetrators of violence, the commission has also punished other parties who have nothing to do with the violence.

Mr. Mwanza states that it is the FDD’s belief that the commission’s powers are restricted to punish perpetrators of violence and not all political players.
