The opposition UPND has warned that Zambia risk losing its good relations with its cooperating partners if government fails to uphold diplomacy in its utterances.
UPND Secretary General Steven Katuka is urging the PF government to be cautious in how it responds to comments that international organizations and foreign diplomats make on issues in the Country.
Mr. Katuka has reminded the PF government that Zambia is still a third world Country that is dependent on donor support.
He says this entails that when some foreign diplomats make particular comments on particular issues they are in fact reminding government of their Country’s interests in the Country.
Mr. Katuka says this also means that government needs to be above partisan politics and diplomatic in how it deals the concerns they raise.
He notes that this is notwithstanding the fact that Zambia is sovereign state.
