President Lungu mourns Muntanga

President Edgar Lungu has described the late immediate past UPND Kalomo Member of Parliament Request Muntanga as veteran law maker.

President Lungu who has sent his condolences to Mr. Muntanga’s family and the UPND has also hailed what he has termed as his immensely contribution to the development of democracy in Zambia.

In a statement made available to Qfm News by Presidential Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda , President Lungu has recalled the fierce debates that the late Mr. Muntanga made in the National Assembly.

President Lungu says the late veteran politician expressed his views as strongly as he possibly felt and in a manner that helped energize the quality of debates in the House.

He thinks that Mr. Muntanga’s virtues must be celebrated by those who seek a career in politics as parliamentarians.

The President notes that he remembers the late Mr. Muntanga very well as well as his tenacity in upholding his views when he rose on the floor of the House.

He says much as his party the ruling PF was on the opposite side in the House he still personally  admired some of his prolific performances.

The Head of State says he is thus saddened to learn of his demise.

He has since wished the late Mr. Muntanga’s family God’s favor during the moment of their loss, urging all mourners to honor his memory by celebrating his life in dignity.
