ZED president Frederick Mutesa has told QTV News that this is in spite of the fact that the framework agreement of such regional trade deals does protect such interests of all member states.

Dr. Mutesa notes that his party is also aware that in some collective trade agreements there tend to always be an element of give and take.

He says this means that much  as Zambia’s national interest are protected the Country may not what he has phrased have its share of the cake and eat it all at the same time.

Dr. Mutesa says the ZED is encouraging the Zambian government to  begin closely examining all the trade deals it has entered into as it deals with COMESA and other regional bodies.
