UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development, Moono Mapani says the statement by President Lungu during his meeting with Southern Province Chiefs that the UPND has been perpetrating violence shows that the Head of State is not ready to take responsibility of all the violent acts in the country.

Mr. Mapani says if President Lungu is truly committed to addressing political violence, he should be in the forefront of taking responsibility of this negative vice.

He says it will not benefit the nation in any way for President Lungu to mislead chiefs that the UPND is perpetrating violence while the PF is on the receiving end.
