Speaking to OK! Online, Sophie said: “I left the villa because I felt I was at the end of my journey. It wasn’t my time anymore.
“I had wanted to leave the day before I actually left.
“I slept on it, saw how I felt. I gave it another shot, but my time in there since Tom left wasn’t the same. It was my time to leave.
“You do think, when you get to this point – you think, ‘What are my chances of winning?’
“This was literally… I was at the end of my tether, I had nothing left to give. It wasn’t a life changing amount of money.
“For me, it was just time to go.
“I believe if you’re not happy with a situation then change it, so I did.
Sophie was seen having a heated discussion with Katie in the house on tonight’s episode, where she said she felt “mugged off” by her.
However, Soph claims the pair have buried the hatchet.
She said: “Everything with Katie is fine. I was open and honest with her. I didn’t want to be there anymore. She understood.
“As a friend, I told her I wanted to chill out – I told her I wanted to be with Tom after this, but she wanted to play the game, get to the end together.
“I never, ever, ever held it back from her that I wanted to be with Tom. If the relationship with Katie had been genuine it would be a big thing for Love Island – the first bisexual couple.
“We could potentially get to the end, potentially win the show. But I wasn’t feeling it.”
Love Island continues on ITV2, tomorrow night at 9pm.
