UPND urges leveled playing field for all parties

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has been called upon to realize the importance of addressing issues of concern being raised by stakeholders ahead of the August elections.

The ECZ is being reminded that the interest of stakeholders is to see to it that Zambia has free, fair and credible elections.

UPND Lusaka District youth vice Secretary Otis Bwalya says his party desires that a leveled playing field created as political parties conduct their campaigns.

Mr. Bwalya says the UPND believes that losers and winners tend to accept the outcome of the elections with less difficult when all political parties are accorded a leveled playing field during the campaigns.

He states that it is thus incumbent upon President Edgar Lungu and the ECZ to promptly resolve the issues surrounding the voters’ register.
