Mulongoti endorses Nawakwi

Mulongoti NawakwiPeople’s Party President Mike Mulongoti has endorsed the candidature of Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) president Edith Nawakwi in the August 11th elections

Speaking during a media briefing this morning, Mr Mulongoti says he had time to scrutinize all the candidates contesting the elections and is convinced that Ms Nawakwi stands out as the best candidate to be elected president because of her vision for the country.

Mr. Mulongoti says the serious challenges facing the nation need visionary leaders to overcome.

He says it is for this reason that he has decided to throw his weight behind the FDD leader.

Mr Mulongoti has since pledged to ensure that Ms Nawakwi wins the August polls.

Speaking at the same briefing, FDD President Edith Nawakwi says she shares the same ideas as Mr. Mulongoti saying they have worked together since 1991.

Ms Nawakwi has lamented that instead of political party leaders fighting poverty; they are busy fighting each other which shows that they have no vision for the country.

Meanwhile FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has charged that the PF Government has insisted on holding the referendum alongside the general election because they want to use it to delay in announcing the election results in an attempt to allegedly rig the elections.

Mr. Mwanza says the party is aware of this ploy by the PF and the ECZ.
