Hope for Human Rights is happy with the contents of the bill of rights which will be subjected to a referendum on August 11.
Executive Director Smart Chanda notes that the bill of rights has progressive articles which are good for the general populous.

He has since encouraged people to vote yes in the referendum in order to expand their rights.
Mr. Chanda has since advised politicians not to discourage people from participating in the referendum, stating that this will not help them in any way.
He says what has been proposed in the bill of rights is for the good of the nation, thus the need for people to turn out in large numbers and vote yes.
Mr. Chanda has also encouraged Zambians to take time to understand the bill of rights so that even as they go to vote, they will be voting from an informed position.
