The TIZ thinks that the action to reopen the Post Newspaper will also  add credence to Zambia’s reputation of holding free and fair elections.

TIZ president Lee Habasonda says this is especially the fact many people already considers the closure of the Post as political persecution.

In an interview with QTV Mr. Habasonda says his organization is of the view that while the daily tabloid has tax obligations it is important that these obligations do not undermine the Country’s democracy.

Mr. Habasonda says TIZ’S demand that President Lungu orders the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is also in the interest of the many young people who depend on the paper for survival.

He says his organization is also advising government not to be seen as using the ZRA as political strategy to win the forthcoming general elections.
