President Edgar Lungu has arrived back home after attending the Regional Summit for East African Countries on Peace and Security that was hosted by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

President Lungu was among seven African presidents who attended a summit which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was part of.

Speaking to Journalists this afternoon upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport President Lungu disclosed that during the summit the Head of States observed that terrorism continues to be a major threat to international peace and security and to the very survival of human civilization.

President Lungu says Heads also discussed issues relating to economic cooperation.

He says he thus takes the summit to have been successful.

And President’s Special Assistance for Press and Public Relation Amos Chanda says Zambia was invited to summit to help device an initiative to counter terrorism in Eastern region.

Mr. Chanda has told the journalists was singled out to attend the summit on the basis of its political stability.
