ZED president Frederick Mutesa says the record of the US in the Countries where it has tried to export democracy has not been so inspiring.

In an interview with QTV Dr. Mutesa has cited Iraq, Libya and Syria as such examples of where the US government has proved unsuccessful to export democracy.

Dr. Mutesa notes that much as the Zambian government does value international diplomatic relations the ZED is of the view that Countries like the US should focus their attention at helping Zambia strengthen its democratic institutions and the respect of rule of law.

He says it is in this context that his party thinks the US government can work towards conflict resolution in the Country in a manner that upholds democratic rights for all Zambians.
