Zambia needs new heroes – HH

Opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema says the best way to honor the sacrifice and struggle of Zambia’s heroes is by acting to protect the inheritance they have left.

Mr. Hichilema says this means that demanding better from the leaders and calling out injustice where it is seen.

He says this is besides relentlessly defending for the rights of all citizens.

In his heroes’ day statement made available to Qfm news Mr. Hichilema has observed that the recent scenes of violence have shown that in 2016 Zambia is once again in need of heroes.

Mr. Hichilema says he has taken note that in addition to intimidation there has been among others alleged attempts by government to trample on people’s freedom of movement and that of the media.

And Mr. Hichilema has wondered where Zambia would be today without those who have spoken out against wrongs.

He does not know where the Country would be without those who have offered their protection to the weak and vulnerable in our communities.

Mr. Hichilema thinks Zambia would be nowhere without those who have pushed for change and progress over the years.
