Government has been encouraged not to ignore calls of establishing more Gender Based Violence fast track courts in the country in order to deal with the growing GBV cases in the country.

Advocacy Against Child Abuse and Gender Based Violence Executive Director Bellion Chola tells QFM News via telephone that the cases of GBV and Child Abuse in Zambia are worrying.

He has also encouraged government to increase shelter to house victims of GBV across the country saying victims go through a lot of trauma.

Mr. Chola says the recent sexual harassment of a woman in Kafue should serve as an eye opener to government in getting serious in dealing with these matters.

Mr. Chola has endorsed calls for the establishment of fast tract courts in all provinces to speed up prosecutions of GBV cases in the country.

He says the only way these cases will reduce is by taking stringent measures of ensuring that culprits of GBV are brought to book.
