University of Zambia (UNZA) workers have gone on a go slow following nonpayment of their June salaries.

University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union (UNZALARU) General Secretary Jason Mwanza who has confirmed the development to Qfm news via telephone says they are disappointed that even after the ultimatum was given neither government nor management has been moved morally.

Mr. Mwanza says there has been completely no word from management or from government citing that they are not feeling any pain at all.

He says the workers have gone on a go slow so as to look for money to look after their families adding that the workers have families to take care of.

Mr. Mwanza says if the workers are paid their money, they will be doing their expected responsibilities to the maximum.

On Thursday, three University of Zambia staff Unions gave UNZA management and Government up to midnight tonight to pay their members their June salaries failure to which they will go on go slow to.

This was resolved during a joint meeting held on the same day by the University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union (UNZALARU), the University of Zambia Professional Staff Union (UNZAPROSU) and the University of Zambia and Allied Workers Union (UNAZAAWU).
