Zesco striker and vice-captain Jackson Mwanza, says the team is very calm ahead of their first away game in the group stage of the 2013 Caf Champions League.

The Zambians face Wydad Casablanca on Wednesday night in Rabat on match-day-two in a battle for top spot in Group A.

Wednesday’s game comes a fortnight after Zesco stunned visitors and eight-time African champions Al Ahly 3-2, at home in Ndola on June 18 to go top of Group A.

“We are very much prepared for the game, the mood is OK in camp and the team is OK,” Mwanza said.

Zesco and Wydad head into the match tied on three points, with the latter coming off a 1-0 away victory over ASEC Mimosa on June 18 away in Abidjan.

“We cannot be intimidated but we just have to be focused and work very hard,” Mwanza said as Zesco seeks to stay unbeaten in Group A.

Meanwhile, Zesco landed in Morocco on Sunday afternoon in two groups with one of thirteen players led by coach George Lwandamina flying in from Paris and landing in Rabat at midday.

The second of five players wholly made up of Zesco’s imports and a club official flew into Casablanca mid-afternoon from Cairo after the footballers were denied Schengen visas in Lusaka.

Defender Ayo Olwufemi of Nigeria, Ben Banh from Niger including the Kenyan trio of Anthony Agay, Jesse Were and David Owino then took an hours drive from Casablanca to Rabat to join the rest of their team mates.
