ZAM sees need to promote manufacturing sector

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) says there is need to promote the manufacturing sector in steering industrial production in the country.

And the association has also welcomed President Edgar Lungu’s directive to the Zambia Public Procurement Authority to ensure all infrastructural projects, including the airports expansion and electricity power station projects, are supplied with locally produced products.

ZAM Chief Executive Officer Maybin Nsupila tells QTV News that there is need to have a robust monitoring mechanism to ensure that the president’s directive is actualized.

Mr. Nsupila notes that the construction industry being the fastest growing sector in Zambia, must work hand in hand with the manufacturing sector.
