Be genuine in condemning violence, political leaders told

SACCORD EDThe Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) is calling on political leaders to be genuine in their condemnation of political violence.

SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe says his organisation is worried that political violence has continued despite numerous calls to end the vice.

Mr. Cheembe says his organization’s fear is that if the current volatile political atmosphere is left to continue, it will be difficult to reverse the trend.

He says this is why SACCORD is calling upon all political party leaders to be aggressive, bold, swift and genuine in condemning violence.

Mr Chembe states that political parties should do this without justifying any forms of violence.
