Ballot papers to be printed next month

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says the printing of ballot papers for the August elections is expected to commence next month.

ECZ Spokesperson Crispin Akufuna says the commission is in the meantime compiling data on the candidates that have successfully filed nomination papers to contest the elections.

Mr. Akufuna says the commission has compiled and published data in print media on those contesting the elections at Parliamentary level.

He has disclosed that the commission is in the process of compiling data for those contesting elections as councilors, mayors and council chairpersons.

Mr. Akufuna states that given this workload, the commission expects to have the printing of the ballot papers to commence in early July.
