Mr. Kapoma says it is the duty of all political parties participating in the elections to ensure their candidates, cadres and supporters abide by the electoral code of conduct.

He says Leaders of all political parties have an even greater responsibility to lead by example by promoting tolerance and peace, and setting the tone for a level playing field for free and fair elections.

And Mr. Kapoma has encouraged the Electoral Commission of Zambia to go ahead and crack the whip on violent political parties which have failed to tame their cadres.
