Chief Mbang’ombe of the Chewa speaking people of Eastern Province in Katete District has bemoaned the lack of development in his area, especially with regards to education and health infrastructure.
Chief Mbang’ombe has also called on government to strengthen agriculture policies, stating that agriculture has been neglected in the area in recent times.
He was speaking at his palace when UPND President Hakainde Hichilema paid a courtesy call on him this afternoon.
And Mr Hichilema acknowledged the critical role traditional leaders play in the development of the country given their detailed knowledge of the problems their subjects face.
